For participants¶
Someone runs coffee pairings and put you on their list? This page is for you. You never need an account, an app, or a password — everything happens over email, and every email you get includes the links described here.
The invitation¶
The first (and only) email you can receive without opting in is an invitation: "{Organizer} would like to include you in coffee pairings." It links to your personal page, where you choose:
- Yes, include me — you're in. Each round, you'll get one email naming your coffee partner. Find a short slot together; that's the whole thing.
- No thanks — leave me out — you're never paired and never emailed again. Even if you're re-added later, Pourover won't ask twice.
Do nothing, and nothing happens: you're not paired and receive no further email.
Your personal link¶
The page from the invitation is yours to keep — the same link appears at the bottom of every pairing email as "Stop receiving these emails." Come back any time to:
- Step out or back in — change your answer in either direction.
- Slow down — if the group pairs more often than you'd like, pick at most every other week or at most every 4 weeks. You stay on the roster and simply sit out the rounds in between.
Changes here take effect immediately.
Pausing, leaving, and rejoining¶
Every pairing email also carries a link to your roster's change-your- pairings form ("To pause or step out of these pairings: …"). Use it to:
- Pause for a while — give a from-date, a back-on date, or both.
- Pause indefinitely — out until you ask to come back.
- Keep taking part, but less often — the slower-pace options above.
- Remove me completely — out for good unless you ask to rejoin.
- Put me back in — if you paused or left earlier.
Requests from this form go to your organizer to approve — it usually takes effect before the next round goes out, and you don't need to email anyone. If you send more than one, the most recent wins.
Lost the links?
Both links live at the bottom of every email Pourover has sent you — dig out the latest one. If you truly have none, reply to a pairing email: replies go straight to your organizer.
What Pourover knows about you¶
Your name, email address, optionally a team, and who you've been paired with — that's it, visible only to your organizer. You'll never be emailed by anyone else's roster, and declining is permanent: a decline can never be overridden by a re-add or a re-import.
